20 fun things to do over this Christmas Break

      ‘Tis the season! The best time of the year is here. Cooler weather, snowy days, and cozy sweatshirts. The month of December is one of the happiest months for everyone; the music, the free time,and the joy of Christmas morning make it great. There are so many great things that come with this time of the year. During the winter break, you can go ice skating at Crown Center and go see the mayor’s Christmas tree. At home, you can bake cookies, watch festive movies, and spend time with family. While there are many things you can do, here are 20 things you can do this winter break to get into the holiday spirit:

  1. Go see the opening of Country Club Plaza lights on Thanksgiving night
  2. Ice skating at Crown Center ($5-20)
  3. See Mayor Lucas’ Christmas tree at Crown Center
  4. Go to the Deanna Rose Farmstead light show from 5-10 pm from Nov. 23- Dec. 31
  5. Watch a new Christmas movie
  6. Go see Christmas lights at Sar-Ko-Par from 6-11pm from Dec. 1- Jan. 15
  7. Make hot cocoa with friends
  8. Build a snowman 
  9. Bake new recipe of cookies or treats
  10. Create a gingerbread house
  11. Organize a secret santa with friends or family
  12. Take pictures with Santa at Bass Pro Shop
  13. Decorate tree and house
  14. Create a Christmas list
  15. Have an ugly sweater party
  16. Donate to a the Aquinas toy drive on December 12th
  17. See the KC ballet perform The Nutcracker at the Kauffman Center
  18. Shop for gifts at the Legends
  19. Go sledding at Stump Park
  20. Get Christmas pajamas
